Savage River Log Manufacturing

The only Foam Core Insulated Log! (Patent Pending)

Savage River Log Manufacturing, located in McHenry, Maryland, has started production of its new and innovative log for the log home building industry.

The logs it produces are 10” in diameter with a Swedish cope and a half notch design.

They are made from premium grade spruce lumber, which has been run through a moulder and then laminated to form the logs’ diameter. This unique and innovative process forms a log with a 7” core into which insulated foam is inserted. See page 2 for the manufacturing process start to finish.

The advantages of this type of log are a higher R-value (R34), lighter weight for easier erection, and no checking.

The company’s owner, Ken Bock, developed the log process over a period of two years.

Savage River Log Manufacturing plans to market its logs on the Internet with its web site www.savageriverlog.com  Its logs will be available in three forms: hollow core for decorative beams; foam filled for walls; and structural for roof trusses and floor beams.

The cost of its logs is competitive with solid wood logs and comparably has more advantages. See our price list.

Savage River Logs also plans to sell several small log cabin kits. See price list.
